Product Review: Stampin’ Up Holiday Catalog 2017

Product Review: Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog 2017

I love this time of year, many of the stamping companies are releasing their new lines for the holidays. And I’m super excited about the brand new Stampin’ Up Holiday Catalog! Inside you’ll find page after page of amazing stamps, dies, papers and embellishments for the fall and winter holidays. For Winter and Christmas there are Santas, sweaters, retro girls, cute animals, stockings, lanterns, snowflakes, mittens, trees, gift tags and loads more. For Fall and Halloween there are pumpkins, sunflowers, spooky scenes, witches hats, owls and cats and so much more. You’ll also find products for New Years and Hanukkah too. There are wood, cling and clear mount stamp sets, many with coordinating die sets or punches, lots of different pattern paper packs and embellishments like wood shapes, twine, ribbon, washi tape, charms and tinsel.

For my first card I used the fun Hearts Come Home stamp set, it’s got images like little houses, trees, moon, snow, and a Santa and sleigh for building sweet little scenes and several great sentiments. I made my card by stamping my scene on cardstock and placing it behind Window Sheet plastic behind the window die from Hearth and Home (found in the annual catalog). I stamped the sentiment on a tag die cut from the new Santa Builder Framelits die set, the pattern paper is from the Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper pack. You can take a closer look at all these new products and also learn how to make this card in my latest Youtube video. Watch below or click here to watch on Youtube.

Next I made some fun treat holders using the Treat Tubes. I stamped and die cut the pumpkin from Seasonal Chums on water color paper and colored it with the Stampin’ Up Water Color Pencils, stamping a sentiment inside and die cutting it out with the Seasonal Tags dies, adding the bat from the die set to the twine knot, I love this stamp and die set, you can make not only the pumpkin tag but a cute reindeer and snowman tags too. For the other tube I colored with markers directly on the candy rubber stamp from the Graveyard Gate set and stamped on vellum and wrapped that around the tube. I stamped the candy circle from that same set onto cardstock and die cut it with a tag and stars die from the Santa Builder dies. These tube makes such fun and unique treat holders!

Lastly I made this fun card with the oh so cute Santa’s Suit stamp set and Santa Builder dies. I wanted it to look like Santa’s outfit was on the clothesline between two chimneys so I used the stone pillar from the Graveyard Gate with some rust and brown inks to make them look like chimneys. The paper is from the Quilted Christmas paper pack. This stamp set comes with a Santa in his long johns and all his outfit pieces and accessories with a clothes line, clothes pins, and even a beard and face to put together a Santa.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my first look at some of the new products in the Stampin’ Up Holiday catalog. Starting today you can order these new products from your local demonstrator or directly on-line from Stampin’ Up.

Be sure to check back soon for more projects and ideas from me using new Stampin’ Up holiday products.
