Xyron Glaminator Review and Giveaway! (GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED)

March 10, by Heather Holbrook. 119 Comments

Xyron Glaminator Review and Giveaway!

(**GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED**)

I recently got the chance to try out The Glaminator from Xyron. This machine does hot and cold lamination as well as FOILING! So you can easily add shimmer and shine to your paper crafting projects with one of the hottest trends right now.

Xyron Glaminator Review and Giveaway!

The Glaminator works with laser printed images (note: ink jet does not work) on cardstock, copy paper and pattern papers. The foil adheres to the toner on the print. I used the Canon Image Class home printer but you can go to a copy store and have laser images printer there as well. I got amazing results on pattern papers and found that I got my best cardstock results with Recollections 65 lb. cardstock found at Micheals. The machine has settings for cold and hot lamination and foiling, it heats up quickly, between 3-5 minutes depending on the setting, the machine lights green and beeps when ready and also has release and shut off features. The Glaminator comes with instruction guide, carrier sheet and a roll of gold foil. But there are lots of other beautiful colors of foil available.

Xyron Glaminator Review and Giveaway!

To get started you need a black image printed on a laser printer, trim your foil a little larger then the image, place the foil color side up (tape in place if needed), lay your paper with foil inside the plastic carrier sheet bumped up against the inside fold, line up the carrier sheet with the opening on the machine and let the rollers pull it through. When it comes out burnish over top, let the sheet cool, open and remove the foil. And you’ve got a beautiful foiled project! To see this machine in action and learn some of the tips and tricks I learned along the way I’ve filmed a video review with samples and easy projects. Visit my Youtube chanel or watch below.
