Stampin’ Up Review : Holiday Catalog Part 2

September 11, 2014 by Heather Holbrook

Stampin' Up Review : Holiday Catalog Part 2

Stampin Up has just released their brand new Holiday Catalog. This supplement adds Fall, Winter, Christmas and New Years items to the current Stampin’ Up lineup and will only be available to order for a limited time.

This new mini catalog has wood mounted, clear mount (rubber on cling) and clear photopolymer stamps as well as pattern Designer Series Papers and embellishments. With themes like Fall sentiments, leaves and feathers, great for Thanksgiving cards and table décor’; spooky and fun monsters witches and ghosts for Halloween treat bags, cards and scrapbook pages and stamps that are made for gift tags, advent calendars, packaging and greeting cards for Christmas. You’ll find coordinating die cuts, washi tapes, sequins, ribbons, trim and wooden shaped embellishments that work perfectly with the stamps and papers.

Today I’ll be sharing with you some cards I made using some of the new Halloween Stampin’ Up products and in the coming weeks I’ll have more inspiration to share, including Christmas ideas. If you missed the first part of my review click here to check it out.

For my first card (shown above) I wanted to use the Freaky Friends stamp set in a different way, they don’t have to be Halloween monsters, I added a single googly eye and made mine into an alien! I punched a large circle from white cardstock and added “craters” using a dots stamp (which are really snow) from the White Christmas set and cut out the globe from the Traveler set (available in the regular Stampin’ Up Catalog) for the earth. The stars background paper is from the Motley Monster Designer Series papers.

For my next card I used the Tee-Hee-Hee set, after a hard night of scaring a witch has got to clean her clothes, right? All the clothes are all stamped one one layer of cardstock no need for cutting because this stamp is set is clear photopolymer, it makes it so easy to place my stamps exactly where I want them! To accent this card I used some paper from the Motely Monsters papers, tied a few bows on the ends of the clothes line, added a bat flying by and used a black pen and drew simple stitch marks around the edges.

Next up is a fun skeleton card using the skeleton and eyes from the Freaky Friends set and sentiment from Ghoulish Greetings. I wanted to do a trendy chalk board technique so I heat embossed my skeletons with white embossing powder on black cardstock then using an applicator I smudged white chalked around them and the edges of the cardstock. I stamped the sentiments a few times on a die cut from the Word Bubbles Framlits dies (from the regular catalog) . It’s accented with washi tape from the Everyday Adventures Project Life set (also from the regular catalog) and the pattern paper is from the Motley Monsters papers.

Lastly I made a quick Halloween tag that would also be a fun book mark using more stamps from the Tee-Hee-Hee set with paper scraps left over from my other witch card.

I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at the new Stampin’ Up Holiday catalogwith me, click here to check it out online. These products are available now to order from your Stampin’ Up demonstrator (click here if you don’t already have a one).
