Product Review: Stampin’ Up Holiday Catalog

August 29, 2014 by Heather Holbrook

Product Review: Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog

Stampin Up has just released their brand new Holiday Catalog. This supplement adds Fall, Winter, Christmas and New Years items to the current Stampin’ Up lineup and will only be available to order for a limited time.

This new mini catalog has wood mounted, clear mount (rubber on cling) and clear photopolymer stamps as well as pattern Designer Series Papers and embellishments. With themes like Fall sentiments, leaves and feathers, great for Thanksgiving cards and table décor’; spooky and fun monsters witches and ghosts for Halloween treat bags, cards and scrapbook pages and stamps that are made for gift tags, advent calendars, packaging and greeting cards for Christmas. You’ll find coordinating die cuts, washi tapes, sequins, ribbons, trim and wooden shaped embellishments that work perfectly with the stamps and papers.

Today I’ll be sharing with you some cards I made using some of the new Halloween Stampin’ Up products and in the coming weeks I’ll have more inspiration to share, including Christmas ideas.

Shown above is a card I made with 3 of the fun monsters from the Freaky Friends stamp set. I stamped each monster with a different ink color and used Blendabilities markers to add more colors to each one. I used two papers from the Motley Monsters Designer Series Papers for the background and added the sentiment from the Ghoulish Greetings set. These monsters are so cute they can hide under my bed anytime!

Next I used the Holiday Home stamp set for a spooky haunted house card. This set has 3 different houses with tons of add-ons for Fall, Halloween and Christmas. This is such a versatile set and perfect making cool scenes. I like that this set is clear photopolymer so it’s easy to line up and stamp all the little details exactly where you want them. I stamped the tall house and colored it using a water brush and ink  from ink pads to water color in the image. Then I used all the fun little stamps like pumpkins, leaves, bats, trees and ghosts to complete my scene. I also used papers from the Motley Monsters Designer Papers for the moon and background stripe.

For my last card I combined stamps from the Freaky Friends set and the Tee-Hee-Hee set.  My black cat witch is looking for a place to park her broom. I used two different ink pads to stamp the broom, stamping the end in yellow and the handle in brown, stamped the cat in black and added the hat stamped in yellow. I punched a circle for the moon and cut small rectangles of papers for my parking sign from the Motley Monsters papers, the star background paper is from that paper set too.

I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at the new Stampin’ Up Holiday catalogwith me, click here to check it out online. These products are available now to order from your Stampin’ Up demonstrator (click here if you don’t already have a one).
