Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Brush Marker Review

September 2, 2020 by Heather Holbrook

Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Brush Marker Review

If you’ve watched any of my card making videos or tutorials in the last year you’ve probably heard me say how much I love Tri-Blend Markers from Spectrum Noir. They have quickly become my favorite alcohol based marker. So of course I was so excited to hear Spectrum Noir has just released their brand new Tri-Blend BRUSH markers!

These marker have 3 shades of a color in one convenient marker but these have a softer Japanese brush tip instead of a bullet tip like the originals. So they are perfect for flicking coloring techniques, especially on fur and hair. They also have a hexagon barrel so they won’t roll off your crafting desk and each one is clearly marked with colored caps, bands and names so it’s easy to grab the marker you’re looking for. They come in a box with all 24 colors or in coordinating packs of 3 or individually. But don’t forget when you get 24 markers you really get 72 different colors. Their grey barrel color helps you to easily distinguish between the original and brush style markers. They also have wonderful color selections and take the guess work out of what colors will give you the best shading, shadowing and blending.

One difference I did notice with the brush markers is many of these markers have different color shades then the originals, for instance the original Tri-Blend “Pale Pink Blend” has colors P1, P2 and P3 but the “Pale Pink Blend” Brush marker has P1, P4 and P5 so even if you have the original marker set of 24 you won’t be getting repeat colors with many of the new brush style.

I put these new markers to the test with a couple of cards like this cute girl with cats and an ocean scene. Watch my video to see these markers in action and check out all their features.

The new Tri-Blend Brush markers from Spectrum Noir can be purchased from Craft’s Companion.

And you can check out my review of the original markers by clicking here.
