Review: Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog 2016

September 7, 2016 by Heather Holbrook

Review: Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog 2016

It’s time to starting working on Holiday ideas! Fall, Halloween, Winter and Christmas are quickly approaching and Stampin’ Up is ready to help you get started working on your cards, scrapbook pages, treat bags, party decorations, and home decor projects with the new Holiday Catalog. It’s filled with all new stamp sets (in wood, cling rubber and clear photopolymer styles), punches, die cut sets, embellishments (like washi tape, twine, charms, thread, tassels, sequins and ribbon), embossing folders, pattern papers, project kits and more. You’ll also find lots of inspirations, ideas and helpful tips. There are also several products that co-ordinate with items from the Annual catalog, so you might find stamps that work with dies you already own, it’s so great to get more uses from one set! Products in the Holiday catalog are available from now through January 3rd 2017.

Halloween is my favorite holiday so I’m excited to start working on my Halloween cards and projects. For my first idea (shown above) I used stamps from the Spooky Fun set and dies from the co-ordinating Halloween Scene Edgelits set to make a spooky Halloween scene card. The ghosts are stamped on Vellum Cardstock. The pattern paper is from the Halloween Night Designer Series. I love how fun and easy it is to mix and match  these stamps and dies to make all kinds of cool scenes.

Next I wanted to make a treat bag, perfect for a Halloween party or to pass out to the trick or treaters. I decorated a small black bag using pattern paper from the Halloween Night series for the background, adding the fence from the Halloween Scene Edgelits dies and the moon, witch and words stamps from Spooky Fun.

Lastly I made another card filling the jar stamp from the Jar of Cheer set with bats from Spooky Fun. The bow is also from Jar of Cheer and the words, spider and web are from Spooky Fun. The neat thing about the Jar of Cheer set is some of the stamps co-ordinate with the Everyday Jar Framelits die set from the annual catalog! The pattern paper is from Halloween Night.
