Product Review: Martha Stewart Circle Edge Punch

November 12, 2012 by Heather Holbrook

Tomorrow 11/13 Martha Stewart will be on HSN premiering a brand new product called the Circle Edge Punch.  This amazing new punch system will be available exclusively on HSN. I recently got to try it out and let me tell you I was so impressed by the creativity and innovation that goes into making a tool like this!  Looking for Thanksgiving printables? Check these designs out on Etsy.

The starter kit comes with a magnetic base and a design cartridge, other cartridge styles are available to buy so you only need one base. This punch will cut a beautifully edged circle in sizes from 6” all the way up to 12″. I found the punch really easy to use. You set the size dials to the size of circle you want, lay the metal cartridge bottom into the base,  the cartridge itself goes on top of that (it’s magnetic so stays in place). Then you simply take a square of any paper (I used heavy cardstock and lightweight pattern paper both with great results) find the middle of the paper, line it up under the magnetic rotating knob and start punching, removing the cartridge and turning the paper with the knob as you go. Trust me it sounds a whole lot more complicated to explain then it is to use. 🙂 One tip I found was trimming my paper about 1/2″ larger than my finished circle was very helpful.

These lovely circles make perfect party decorations like table doilies, hanging banners, treat cones, cupcake wrappers and lots more. They are also wonderful layers for larger cards and scrapbook pages.

For my projects I made a pretty double layer doily for my table and a wrap around for a Thanksgiving gate-fold style card.

Be sure to tune in tomorrow to HSN to see this fun tool in action and visit HSN.com to purchase one for yourself, the cost is $35.99. Don’t forget you won’t find these anywhere else!

I do also have a nice treat for our readers and that’s a coupon code for Martha Stewart! Use code BLOG20 and receive 20% off your purchase at MarthaStewart.com for all your other Martha Stewart craft needs. (please note code is not good at HSN)
