Product Review: A Muse Studio

April 10, 2013 by Heather Holbrook

product review: A muse Studio

Last week a received the brand new A Muse Studio Catalog and Inspiration Guide. It’s fulled with wonderful stamping and scrapbooking products including loads of new stuff like 31 new stamp sets, 11 matching dies (so you can die cut your stamped images perfectly every time), new Petite Pin Stripe cardstock, tons of fun party supplies (like straws, baker’s cord, washi tape and bags), more Splash color ink sprays and an expanded color palette (A Muse now has 4 season with 12 colors each).

And I was also lucky enough to get to play with some of the brand new products. First off let me say (once again, as I’ve said it before) how much I LOVE A Muse’s stamps! They are red rubber mounted on cling foam and come already die cut. No cutting, just pop them out and place them on a clear acrylic block and you’re ready to stamp. The deeply etched rubber gives you a perfect image every time! I also adore their cardstock, it’s a nice sturdy weight, perfect for card bases and layering. And I really like that the color is only on one side, the back is white so when you cut and fold it for a card base it’s white inside, no need to add additional layers on dark colors. It’s also fun to tear and get that neat white edge. I also like how well their items color match perfectly from ink pads to cardstock to buttons and ribbon, it all co-ordinates so well.

For my project I was really excited to try out the Splash color spray inks. I have to admit I haven’t really jumped on the spray band wagon yet and didn’t know what to expect but these spray are so much fun, the colors are really vibrant and they dry super fast! I thought I’d be waiting around for it to dry but it dried in just seconds. My card shown above used the Papaya Splash spray for the background on my bright beachy card using the new Sunset Beach stamp set and grapefruit ink pad.

For my next card I used some of the Petite Pin Strip cardstock and the cute Anchors Away stamp set, isn’t that whale totally adorable?

Lastly I made a quick and elegant card using the new With This Ring set that has several vintage and retro images perfect for weddings and anniversaries.
