Wax seals have been having a moment lately. I know they’ve been around for hundreds of years and have bursts of popularity from Harry Potter (his Hogwarts letter was sealed with red wax) and again when vintage and mixed media paper crafting designs became popular in the early 2000’s and now they are back. Many companies are offering colorful wax in pellets and sticks, candles and pots for melting and metal stamps to press in and create the design. But what if you don’t have wax but would like to give this trend a try? I bet as a crafter you probably have some hot glue and a glue gun on hand and you can actually use those to create your own faux wax seals.
Lydia is sharing a tutorial on using hot glue, you can use clear or colored glue, and metal stamps to create these fun seals. Add some metallic wax for a nice contrast and shimmer too.
