Tips for Making Wax Seals

Wax seals are a beautiful and elegant way to add a personal touch to envelopes, cards, and other paper goods. If you’re new to making wax seals or haven’t made them in a while, you may be wondering where to start. Fortunately, there are many resources available to help you get started with wax seals, including instructional videos and tutorials.

One great resource is a video by Yana Smakula, who shares 10 helpful tips for using wax seal products from Spellbinders. In this video, Yana covers a wide range of topics, including how to choose the right wax, how to use a wax seal stamp, and how to troubleshoot common issues that may arise when making wax seals. Whether you are new to wax seals or an experienced pro, Yana’s tips and techniques are sure to be helpful and informative.

Visit her blog to check it out.

In addition to following Yana’s tips, you can also try making your own wax seal stamp using a few simple materials. Here’s an easy way to DIY your own wax seal stamp:

  1. Gather your materials: You will need a wooden dowel or other wooden object, a small metal stamp or emblem, a glue gun, and a pencil.
  2. Trace the metal stamp onto the wooden dowel: Use the pencil to trace the metal stamp onto the wooden dowel. This will help you to get the size and shape of the stamp just right.
  3. Cut out the traced shape: Use a saw or other cutting tool to carefully cut out the traced shape from the wooden dowel. Be sure to wear protective goggles and gloves to avoid injury.
  4. Glue the metal stamp to the wooden dowel: Use a glue gun to attach the metal stamp to the wooden dowel. Be sure to press down firmly to ensure a good bond.
  5. Let the glue dry: Once the glue has dried, your wax seal stamp is ready to use! Simply melt some wax and press the stamp into the hot wax to create your own personalized wax seals.

Overall, making your own wax seal stamp is a fun and easy way to add a personal touch to your envelopes, cards, and other paper goods. Whether you follow Yana’s tips or try making your own stamp, wax seals are a beautiful and elegant addition to any handmade project.
