How to Make a Cute Gatefold Card

May 24, 2025 by Heather Holbrook

How to Make a Cute Gatefold Card

If you’re tired of the same folded at the side or top design of card then try something different like a gatefold. This style of card has two folds on each side with flaps that meet in the middle and open like a gate. It’s a simple but fun way to switch things up! Lynn is sharing how to use double sided pattern paper so the outside and inside of the gatefold have different patterns, she also added a scalloped edge to the flaps for an even more unique look. The front of the card has a darling stamped bear holding a string of hearts that she colored with Zig Clean Color Markers.

How to Make a Cute Gatefold Card

Inside she’s included another layer of floral pattern paper with the matted sentiment on a scalloped mat. Also notice the additional stamped sentiment with the little bee she added behind the bear panel, so cute! I love little cute touches like that!
