FREE 4×6 Cardmaking Backgrounds – Vintage Easter Collection

March 16, 2026 by Shellie Wilson

There’s something about Easter crafting that brings out every soft, nostalgic feeling I’ve got tucked away. Maybe it’s the pastel colours, maybe it’s the memory of little hands hunting for eggs in the garden, or maybe it’s simply the joy of creating something gentle and pretty after a long, hot summer. Whatever it is, this month’s printable set wraps all of that up into one sweet bundle: Vintage Easter 4×6 Cardmaking Backgrounds.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably dug through that stash of patterned papers a hundred times looking for “just the right one,” only to realise the perfect print exists only in your imagination. So why not print what you wish you had on hand? That’s exactly why I created this series — so we can all build a library of cardmaking papers that feel thoughtful, beautiful, and easy to use.

This Vintage Easter set is filled with faded florals, soft gingham, delicate lace, tiny speckled eggs, and the sweetest little bunny and lamb you’ve ever seen. They print like a dream and make even the simplest card look like something out of a storybook.

What’s Included in This Vintage Easter Download

You’ll receive five coordinated 4×6 background designs, each placed on an A4 sheet at 300 DPI for crisp, clean printing. Every sheet is formatted with:

  • A centered, true-size 4×6 design
    • Soft dotted trim lines for easy cutting
    • A clean white page (perfect for home printers)
    • CraftGossip.com footer in ink-friendly grey
    • Gentle vintage textures and Easter motifs that blend with any cardmaking style

Print one or print all five — they work beautifully together or on their own.

Why Cardmakers Love 4×6 Printable Backgrounds

One of the biggest frustrations in cardmaking is trimming down papers only to lose the part of the pattern you actually liked (ask me how many roses I’ve accidentally chopped in half over the years…). A true 4×6 background solves all of that.

These designs:

  • Fit A6 cards perfectly
    • Layer beautifully under die cuts and stamped images
    • Make quick cards feel polished
    • Give you consistent prints every time
    • Save your “good paper” for when you really need it

There’s something freeing about knowing you can print the same favourite background again and again.

How to Use These Printable Backgrounds

Try printing on:

  • Matte photo paper
    • White cardstock
    • Premium printer paper

Then trim along the dotted line and start playing. You can stamp directly over them, emboss them, die-cut shapes from them, or use them whole as a soft backdrop. Vintage designs like these are especially lovely under vellum, lace trims, kraft cardstock, and soft distress inks.

Vintage Easter Cardmaking Ideas

If you need a spark to get started:

  • Add a vellum overlay with a heat-embossed sentiment
    • Tuck a tiny twine bow near the eggs or flowers
    • Layer die-cut bunnies or eggs over the script backgrounds
    • Use kraft cardstock frames for a rustic look
    • Add a touch of Distress Ink around the edges for a sweet, aged finish

These papers do most of the work — you just add the charm.
