Delicious tropical drinks are the colorful theme of this wonderful card from Bobbi! She used fun stamps from Sunny Studio for this design. Visit the Bobbi Hart blog for more details.
Summer is here and that means time in the sun, maybe taking a trip but it also means it’s time for special food and drinks! There’s so much great produce this time of year, especially fruit, like cherries, mango and pineapple, it’s also fun to cool off in the heat with a sweet treat like ice cream and popsicles and don’t forget yummy summer cocktails (or mocktails) like Pina Colada and Watermelon Daiquiris. Lots of crafting companies have fun food and drink stamps and dies to help you create sensational summer food and drink themed cards. These types of cards are fun to send for summer birthdays, party invitations, BBQ’s, and just general “thinking of you” designs.
I’ve gathered up a fantastic group of summer food and drink cards to help give you some ideas and inspiration. Click on the link below each photo to find information like products used, video tutorials, tips and techniques.
I love the dynamic design on this ice cream card, the bear and bunny are hanging on tight trying to get their treats. And the Copic marker coloring is amazing with all the shading and shadowing! Visit the Clearly Besotted blog for more info.
This sweet card is shaped like a basket of cherries, doesn’t the teal and red color combo work so well together? This card is created with dies from Lori Whitlock that can be cut out with an electronic die cutting machine. Visit her blog for a closer look.
Here’s a couple of cards I created with some ice cream dies. One card uses glitter paper for a shimmery stack, the other is a fun interactive shaker card. You can learn more about these cards in another post on our blog.
This cute kitty cat is enjoying some freshly cut watermelon on this adorable card. Marine added a layer of vellum over the background to add dimension and separate the scene of the cat on the pile of watermelons. Learn more about this design on the Blue Marine blog.
I love how the tiny pieces inside these shaker glass cards look like real ingredients with little strawberries, limes and lemons! And check out that hologram paper for the glasses, these cards have so many interesting elements! Visit Amy R.’s blog to watch her video tutorial.
When I was a kid every summer I remember my Mom and Grandmother making and canning jams, jellies and pickles. This sweet card full of stamped jelly jars brings me right back to my childhood. Visit the Waffle Flower blog for a closer look.
One way to create an easy cohesive card is by taking colors or elements from pattern paper or ribbon into the rest of your design. Like Joni did on this card, she colored the stamped girl’s dress to match the watermelon ribbon she added to the card, how cute and clever is that!? Visit The Greeting Farm blog for more details.
I adore the “berry” sweet pun on this delicious card from Jeanne. She used stamps and a lattice die from Pretty Pink Posh for a design that look good enough to eat. Visit the PPP blog for a more info.
Summer is also the time for grilling out and having barbeques. This card features a stamped and splattered background with dies to create the grill, flames and sentiment. This card is for Father’s Day but you can easily change it up for a BBQ invite. Visit the Trinity Stamps blog for all the details.
These amazing stamped cards also bring back wonderful memories of getting ice cream and popsicles in the summer from the Ice Cream Truck. I love the very 80’s inspired backgrounds and color combos! Visit the Hero Arts blog for card making directions.
This super cool pineapple stamp in his sunglasses is so much fun! He’s been colored with OLO markers and is sitting on a background that’s been die cut for lots of texture and ink blended in sunset colors. Visit The Rabbit Hole Designs blog for more details.
And lastly this yummy cherry card has a fun surprise, the center of the card and the tag both have magnets so it not only covers part of the sentiment to be revealed by the recipient but then the tag can be used as an ornament. Visit the Lawn Fawn blog for a video tutorial on how to make this design.
I hope you’re inspired and not too hungry after taking a look at all these yummy food and drink Summertime card ideas!
