14 Handmade Cards with a Touch of Gold

This pretty card uses heat embossing on the sentiment to add some gold, it’s a nice contrast to the more rustic elements like the doily, hemp string and wild flowers. Visit the Mama Elephant blog to learn more.

A little touch of gold on a handmade card can add not only some beautiful shimmer and shine but also elegance or even whimsy. There’s several ways to add gold to your cards like using stamping with heat embossing, foiling, metallic cardstocks, glitter and more. A pop of gold can be added with a sentiment, an embellishment or a layering element and works for almost any occasion and style. No matter how you add that bit of gold it’s sure to elevate your card design.

I’ve gathered up a beautiful array of cards that have a timeless touch of gold to get you inspired. Beneath each photo you’ll find a link, most will contain products used, tips and tricks, tutorials and techniques.
