10 Halloween Paper Crafting Treat Bag Ideas

October 13, 2026 by Heather Holbrook Leave a Comment

Soft pastels are super trendy this Halloween and June used them perfectly for this owl-dorable treat box! She used a die to cut the box and used stenciling to create her own pattern paper design on it. She wrapped twine and a stamped sentiment around the box but the star is the witchy die cut Owl on an oval panel. Learn more at the Pretty Pink Posh blog.

I love using my paper crafting products to create things other than cards or scrapbook layouts. Stamps, dies and papers are perfect for creating treat bags and boxes for any holiday or occasion! With Halloween coming up really soon you can gather up all those supplies and make some fun and festive holders for handmade snacks or store bought treats to pass out to the Trick or Treaters, at school or the office too, they are sure to put a big smile on anyone’s face. Today let’s take a look at some fa-boo-lous paper crafted Halloween Treat Bag ideas.

Just about any die cut box can be decorated to suit your needs. Lindsay used a tall box with wide handles and covered it with pattern papers in shades of pinks for her treats. She wrapped scalloped paper and created custom pumpkins from die cut ovals, adding a stem. Find directions at the Lori Whitlock blog.

Good old fashion brown paper sacks can be taken up a notch with some white heat embossing like Shari used here. She punched holes over the folded top, ran ribbon and twine through and then added super cute tags with stamped and colored owls all dressed up for Halloween. Take a closer look at the Simon Says Stamp blog.

Wow! Check out this amazing row of Haunted House treat boxes! Using the same die doesn’t mean they all have to look the same, mix it up with different colors of cardstock, adding different die cut embellishments with some glitter for shine and twine to tie on some tags. Find more details at The Greetery blog.

Making bag toppers is so fun and easy, use a long label die, decorate it with pattern papers and die cut images, fill a clear bag with candy and fold over the topper closing it with staples, brads or tape. Kendra shares step by step directions for her spooky pumpkin toppers at the Brass and Bliss blog.

Heather die cut her treat bag from dark blue cardstock and stenciled on a night sky for the perfect creepy backdrop for a haunted house. She die cut the house and ghost from cardstocks, with the witch hat roof peeking over the top of the bag and the ghost flying away. There’s also a sentiment strip on a chip board tag too. If you have a lot of bags to make keep it quick and simple like K did. Die cut bags from orange or black cardstocks and add a die cut sentiment from metallic or glitter cardstocks. You could make a bunch of these all at once in no time. Learn more at the K.becca blog.

Mimi created wonderful bags for Halloween with silhouetted Jack O’ Lantern dies. She cut the bag base from tan, cutting  the handles and bottom strips from colored cardstocks with splatter. For the main die cut pumpkin images she ink blended and splattered colored cardstocks for lots of texture. Also notice the yellow offset image behind each one, it adds a cool 3D retro feel. Find more info at the Mama Elephant blog.

Instead of a bag or a box Carly created treat holder cards, how fun! This little die cut bears arms cut around the edges so you can fold them out to hold items like a lollipop. She put a fun witches hat on the bear and added a sentiment and ribbon on the sucker for extra details with stamped candy and large sentiment on the card base. Watch her video tutorial at the Hero Arts blog.

Colleen went all out with her bags, covering brown handle bags with layers of pattern papers and lots of fun embellishments. I love the old fashioned design with lace trim, cute smiling chipboard pumpkin, die cut accents and lots of colorful domed brads. Take a closer peek at A Cherry on Top blog.

I hope you get no tricks but lots of treats this Halloween!
