Review: A Muse Studio

July 11, by Heather Holbrook. 4 Comments

The wonderful folks over at A Muse Studio recently sent me a wonderful box of goodies to try out. I had the best time using their stamps, inks and papers, it was hard to stop creating!

First off let me tell you how much I LOVE their stamp sets! Each set is deeply etched red rubber mounted on cling foam. Ready to use with clear acrylic blocks. No assembly needed, they are already cut (and trimmed nice and close) with the index image on the back for super easy placement when stamping. They come packaged in DVD style plastic boxes fully indexed on the outside (with the name of the set also on the side) for easy storage.

The only way I can describe their paper is yummy, the colors are wonderful. I got a pack of each seasonal color set and also some of the printed papers as well. The weight is really good, sturdy enough for a card base but not too thick so you can have several layers without a lot of bulk. The papers die cut nice and clean too. All papers are white on the backside which makes for perfect card bases, you can have a dark card front and still be able to stamp or write on the inside since it’s white. I really like that.

I also played with several colors of ink pads. I found the pads match their paper colors perfectly, which as we all know is really important 🙂 The pads are foam with pigment ink so you can heat emboss with them but they also worked well by themselves and dried pretty quickly.

I created several cards, one for each season. All my cards used A Muse stamps, A Muse solid and pattern papers and A Muse colored ink pads. (the exceptions were some black and white cardstock I had on hand and black Memento ink)

My spring bunny card shown above, used the Springtime Day set, this set also includes a lovely Beeskeep and phrases.

The second card for summer used the Life’s a Breeze set , it has some other great beachy items like a light house, deck chair, crab, phrases and more. I used different blue papers to paper piece the boat and kite.

My next card used the Creepy Halloween set for the perfect fall card. I think I used every stamp that comes in this set on my card. Along with some orange polka dot paper. I pieced the tombstones and punched a yellow circle for the moon.

My last card is a vintage theme holiday card with a wonderful Santa and reindeer images from the Santa’s Flight set. I love the Night Before Christmas pattern paper, goes perfectly with this set! I inked the edges with brown ink and a sponge dauber to add to the old time feel. Notice I added a red rhinestone for Rudolf’s nose 🙂

I hope you enjoyed looking at my latest card creations using A Muse Studio products! Follow the link to take a look at their on-line catalog and to find a consultant near you to place an order or have a home party. I want to send a big thanks to the generous people at A Muse!

And I’ve got great news for you, be sure to check back next week when we’ll be having an AMAZING PRIZE PACKAGE GIVEAWAY from A MUSE!!  You will not want to miss this one!
