Review: Stampin’ Up Occasions 2017 Catalog Part 2

January 31, 2017 by Heather Holbrook

Review: Stampin' Up Occasions 2017 Catalog Part 2

At the beginning of each year Stampin’ Up releases their Occasions catalog which adds new items for upcoming holidays and celebrations in addition to their annual catalog for a limited time. This year the Occasions catalog runs from January 4th through May 31st 2017. It’s filled with loads of wonderful new products like wooden and clear stamp sets, thin metal dies, embossing folders, pattern paper packs, embellishments and more. There’s cute bunnies, chicks and baskets for Easter; hearts and funny monsters for Valentine’s Day; sweet animals for baby; tool sets, flowers and super heroes for Dads and Moms; insects and ice cream for summer time; dainty florals for weddings; cupcakes and carnival for birthdays; sentiment and travel stamps and much more! You’ll also find new water color pencils and accents like washi tapes, ribbons, doilies, charms and more.

I’m happy to be back with another peek at some of the new products, click here if you missed part one.

For my first card (shown above) I used the chick and bunny ears from the sweet Little Cuties stamp set. I used the new Water Color Pencils to color it. I LOVE these pencils, the colors match existing Stampin’ Up colors, they are smooth and creamy and blend wonderfully, especially with the Aqua Brush. The chick and words are stamped on shapes from the Stitched Framelits Dies. The pattern paper is from the Tasty Treats Designer Papers.

Next I used the buttercups from the Basket Bunch stamp set, putting them in a jar from Jar of Love set (from the regular catalog), I stamped the jar on vellum and added “water” with one the Water Color Pencils, as well as coloring the flowers. The words are also from the Basket Bunch set.

Lastly I made a cute little gate fold card with stamps from the Basket Bunch set, I love this bunny, he’s so cute! The pattern paper is from the Tasty Treats papers and the squares are die cut from the Stitched Framelits Dies.

I hope you’ve enjoyed another look at the new Occasions products. Click here to check out all the new Occasions products from Stampin’ Up and check back soon for more ideas using these great new items.
