Review: Stampin’ Up 2016 Catalog Part 2

June 21, 2016 by Heather Holbrook

Review: Stampin' Up 2016 Catalog Part 2

I’m so excited to bring you another look at the brand new Stampin’ Up catalog! If you missed my first review click here to check it out. Just released this new catalog  runs from June 1st 2016 to May 31st 2017 and contains loads of new wood mount, cling mount and photopolymer clear stamp sets, pattern paper sets, new In Color Collections,  metal die cuts, punches, Project Life collections, embellishments, embossing folders, all inclusive kits and more! There are themes for summer like ocean fish, pineapples and flamingos, travel, outdoors and animals like foxes, deer, birds, dogs and cats, lots of floral and gardening, several masculine sets, fruits and beverages, feathers, alphabets, sentiments and much more. Styles range from sweet to sassy to elegant to realistic and whimsical. You’ll also find page after page of amazing card, scrapbook page and home decor, gift wrapping projects and inspirations.

For my first project I used flowers, stems and a word from the Jar of Love stamp set. I stamped the layering flower stamps in various shades of inks and then used the coordinating Everyday Jars Framelits Dies to cut them out.  This stamp and die sets are so versatile even without using the jars. I love how pretty it turned out.

Did you know Butterflies are deep and powerful representations of life. Many cultures associate the butterfly with our souls.  In China, it is used as a symbol of bliss and joy. White Butterflies are symbols of spiritual change and personal transformation.

Next I used the two cute hedgehog stamps from the Love You Lots set.  I made a fun slider card used a banner die to make a slider section. The hearts come from the Weather Together set and the words are from Love You Lots. The pattern paper is from the Blooms and Bliss Designer series paper. This is my first slider card and it was so much fun to make, the one hedgehog rolls towards the other! A note about the Love you Lots set, this set is only available for those who host a Stampin’ Up party and earn rewards. So if you’re in love with this set gather some friends together and call your local Stampin’ Up demonstrator.

For this last card I used the glass cloche dome and added the succulent plants inside from the Live, Love Grow stamp set. And added the butterfly from the Grateful Bunch stamp set flying beside. The pattern paper is from the Blooms and Bliss Designer series paper. I also I added a touch of shimmer to the plants and butterfly using the clear Wink of Stella pen. This pen is one of my favorite new go to tools!

I hope you’ve enjoyed taking another look at some of the new items available in the new Stampin’ Up catalog. Check back soon for more samples and inspiration in the coming weeks. If you’re interesting in looking at the new catalog or placing an order you can do so at Stampin’ Up online or contact your local demonstrator.
