Did you know the Silhouette die cutting machines can do more than just cut paper, fabric, magnets and sticker paper? It can also sketch designs, using the Silhouette Sketch Pens you can “draw” special Sketch designs from Silhouette, your own downloaded drawings and even die cut images. Using the Designer Edition software you can turn any die cut image into a sketch, which is exactly what I did for the fox on my card. I placed all the pieces of the die cut together on the virtual mat in the Silhouette Studio program on my computer, using the welding tool where needed, highlighted the image and then hit the sketch button. I now had an image that can be easily drawn instead of cut, in essence I made myself a digital stamp. Using the black Sketch Pen in the machine instead of my blade the machine drew out my fox and I colored him with markers. I then used a repeated leaf border for the background using the rust colored pen and also the brown pen for my words. Silhouette will cut or sketch any true type font you have on your computer too!
