Product Review: Stampin Up Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies

November 1, 2016 by Heather Holbrook

Product Review: Stampin Up Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies

The stitched look is such a huge trend in paper crafting right now and Stampin’ Up is right on top of it with their awesome new Stitched Shapes Framelits dies! This brand new set of thin metal dies launches today and includes 12 different die shapes of nesting squares, ovals and circle shapes with faux stitched edges. These dies co-ordinate with 12 different current Stampin Up stamp sets but will work with loads of different stamped images and designs.

I was so thrilled to give these new dies a try! For my first card, shown up top, I used the Christmas Pines stamp set, stamping the evergreen limbs over paper from the Candy Cane Lane Designer series papers, adding stamped and cut out pine cones in brown and gold inks. The words are stamped on an oval die cut from the Stitched Shapes dies.

Next I made a card using the Sheltering Tree stamp set with fall colored inks, making a “spotlight” using a regular circle and one of the circles from the Stitched Shapes dies.

I then used the Merry Mice set with one of the squares from the Stitched shapes and stamped the sentiment on a smaller square, cutting off and using just the top part of the shape. The pattern papers are from the Candy Cane Lane paper set.

Lastly I made a fun little holiday tag using stamps from the Jar of Cheer set and die cutting it with the Everyday Jar Framelits die. I adhered just the lid of the jar to an oval Stitched Shapes die so it would lift to reveal the sentiment underneath. I added a little Pearl Basic Jewel to the snowman’s hat.
