Product Review: Stampin’ Up Occasions Catalog

January 11, 2016 by Heather Holbrook

Product Review: Stampin' Up Occasions Catalog

I’m so happy to share with you another review for Stampin’ Up! Right now Stampin’ Up has their brand new  Occasions catalog and is a supplement to the regular yearly catalog adding wonderful products for Valentine’s Day, Birthday’s, Spring, Mother’s and Father’s Day and lots more. There are new clear, cling and wood mounted stamps, pattern papers, die cuts, punches, kits and embellishments. The Occasions catalog runs from January 5th though May 31st 2016.

For my first card I used the lovely new A Nice Cuppa stamp set. This set is perfect for making cards for a tea lover and it also reminds me of Alice in Wonderland too. I stamped the tea cup  and added the words over top, adding the lemon slice and tiny tea bag to the cup, mounting it on pattern paper from the Have A Cuppa series paper stack. Around the card I tied some of the Bermuda Bay Stitched Ribbon and added the sweet little spoon charm  from the Have a Cuppa embellishments.

For my next card I die cut the window and ledge from the Hearth and Home die cut set adding a scene behind stamped from the Happy Home stamp set. I added words and flowers from the same set at the bottom over some pattern paper from the Have Cuppa paper set.

Lastly I die cut the large rose and leaves design from the Rose Garden Thinlits die set using my brand new Big Shot die cutting machine ( which was an awesome Christmas gift from my husband!). These dies are very detailed and intricate and the cool Big Shot Die Brush really helps get all those tiny die cut pieces loose. To color I used ink pads and an Aqua Painter to water color the die, adding some shimmer over top the with clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush pen. I also added a sentiment from the Rose Wonder stamp set onto a die cut label from the Rose Garden Thinlits.

Be sure to check back as I’ll have lots more inspiration from the Stampin’ Up Occasions catalog to share in the up coming weeks,
