Product Review: Stampin’ Up Occasions Catalog Part 2

January 29, 2016 by Heather Holbrook

Product Review: Stampin' Up Occasions Catalog Part 2

I’m so happy to be back to share with you another review for the Stampin’ Up! brand new  Occasions catalog . It’s a supplement to the regular yearly catalog adding wonderful products for Valentine’s Day, Birthday’s, Spring, Mother’s and Father’s Day and lots more. There are new clear, cling and wood mounted stamps, pattern papers, die cuts, punches, kits and embellishments. The Occasions catalog runs from January 5th though May 31st 2016.

For my card shown above I used the Bear Hugs stamp set and coordinating Framelits die set. This set is perfect for making Mother’s Day or Father’s Day cards with accessories you can add to the bears to make them male or female, there’s also a cute baby bear and lots of sayings. I put the fun hat on my Papa Bear and added the fish in his arms which goes perfectly with the “I love you this much” sentiment. I wanted my bears arms to fold so I actually cut his arms off and  switched sides, folding them over so it looks like he’s holding the fish.

Next I used the Grateful Bunch stamp set, randomly stamping the leaves and large flower all over, coloring with Colored Pencils and then stamped and punched out the smaller flowers with the coordinating Blossom Bunch Punch, layering those with foam tape. The trio of smaller flowers lines up perfectly with the punch so it’s super easy to use!

Lastly I made a card with the totally awesome Picture Perfect set. This set has several different layers for each stamp image that you stamp on top of each other for a very realistic look. I stamped the hummingbird using 3 shades of green then added some twine across the bottom of the card.

Be sure to check back as I’ll have lots more inspiration from the Stampin’ Up Occasions catalog to share in the up coming weeks.
