I really love the look of water color and the ease and control of using markers so I was really interested in trying out the Arteza Real Brush Pens. These water based markers have a flexible nylon brush tip and can be used alone or they also react with water for a water color look. You can apply the markers directly to your surface and use a wet paint brush (or water brush) to pull out the color or you can apply the marker to a palate and pick it up with the wet brush for a softer look. These pens come in 12, 24, 48 and 96 size sets, I picked up the 24 set and was happy with the range of colors that was included.
I used these pens on this fox card, using the markers alone to make my wild flower background and also used them to water color the cute fox stamp from Art Impressions. I found them easy to use, the colors blended nicely, I loved the flexible brush tip because I was able to get thick or thin lines and they work perfectly as a water coloring medium.
I filmed a video tutorial showing how I made my card, you can watch it below or click here to visit my YouTube channel.
