Mix Markers with Colored Pencils for Coloring Stamps

I have to say when I color my stamps I don’t often mix my media, I might add some highlight with a white gel pen but that’s about it. I do mix media when doing collage art so why not with stamping too? I guess I just don’t think about it but Sandy Allnock sure does. She created this amazing Garden Harvest Card coloring stamped images from Colorado Stamp Company using alcohol based Olo Markers and Colored Pencils. She first lays down color with the markers, then adds the colored pencils over top. Notice how she’s stamped on a Kraft colored cardstock, this really helps the colors pop. She’s also stamped in a light colored ink, over lapping some of the images instead of doing a masking technique. You can learn all about it in the video tutorial she’s posted.
