Amy R. used new Alex Syberia products to create several amazing faux postage themes Holiday cards. This one features Santa and a present stenciled on die cut faux stamps with stamped sentiments. I love all the extra dies she used for a pink Poinsettia and glittery sentiment too! Watch her video tutorial at the Prairie Paper and Ink blog.

Faux postage has been very popular in card making and paper crafting recently with faux postage stamps, cancelation marks, faux postcard designs and mailboxes so naturally it’s going to extend into different Holiday cards too. Lately I’ve seen so many wonderful new postage themed stamps, dies and stencils for Christmas and Winter and loads of beautiful handmade cards using them. So, today we’ll take a closer look at this card making trend of Faux Postage Christmas Cards.

Below each photo you’ll see a link, click it for more details like products used, tutorials and techniques.

Elaine used adorable stamps from Sweet November to create this Santa and his Reindeer card, notice how one has a red nose for Rudolf. Stamped stamped and colored the images onto a die cut sheet of faux postage stamps and used a silver pen to add metallic details to the edges. Visit the Marker Geek blog for a video tutorial.

One of my favorite techniques is using colored pencils to color stamped images on Kraft cardstock, like Pam did here for her happy Snowman card. Her faux postcard also has some stamped white snowflakes and heat embossed white sentiments with a tiny faux snowflake stamp. Take a closer look at the Spellbinders blog.

I love the soft colors on Leanne’s cute card. She stamped cute little Holiday icons onto each die cut postage stamp, separate them a bit and popped with up on a grey polka dot background. There’s more layers of cardstock and a postage frame around the card edge too. It’s finished with die cut greenery, bow and a tied button. She used products from Hello Bluebird for her design.

Isn’t this faux postage style so fun? It works with many different styles and can be created with different techniques and products. Are you going to give it a try this Holiday season?
