Justin combined the bright colors of Summer with cute spooky stamps for his darling Summerween card. He used OLO Markers to color the stamps and Catherine Pooler ink pads to ink blend the different backgrounds behind each section of the die cut frame. Hurray, it’s Summerween!! That’s the time many of the paper crafting companies begin to release their fun and spooky Halloween products and that really make this Halloween girlie so happy. Some of us even make cards that combine Summer and Spooky, which is where this term comes from. There’s so much new and amazing pattern papers, stamps, dies and stencils that have just come out it’s hard to take it all in but let’s give it a try by checking out some brand new handmade card samples from designers and get ready to dive into Summerween!
Tasha’ darling design has a stamped bunny rabbit going trick or treating, colored with Copic Markers. The background is a stary stencil with glitter paste for lots of shimmer, along with gold glitter paper and layers of Halloween colored cardstocks and ghost pattern paper. Monica’s fun interactive card has cute stamped Halloween trick or treaters, a stenciled firework background and die cut spider webs. Jennifer created a sweet shaker card with a die cut ghost girlie with a glittery bow in her hair. She’s holding a potion bottle filled with silver glitter and tied with a vellum tag. Heejung’s Summerween card has a nod to the 60’s with bold colors and funky flowers, using products from Hero Arts. Lia’s soft and sweet little ghost was created using vellum. She stamped the ghost on a piece of vellum and again on a pattern paper, cutting it out and slipping it beneath the vellum. Rachel perfectly combined Summer and Halloween with this popsicle ghosts card. She used inking to add color and dimension to the die cut pink popsicles with ghosts over top, adding pink cheeks, splashes and shine marks with a white gel pen.
