Joy used dies to create a pretty jar full of greenery, flowers and small American flags. Notice how she used vellum for the jar to give a semi-transparent look. And I love the addition of light teal blue instead of all Navy. Visit the Taylored Expressions blog to watch her video tutorial.
This week it’s the 4th of July in the USA, since our flag colors are red, white and blue I thought today would be a perfect time to share handmade card ideas using that color combination. These colors are also in some other countries flag, work well for Patriotic Cards like Memorial Day and Flag Day but also are great colors for Birthday, Summer or Nautical Cards too. So let’s get some ideas and inspiration from some Red, White and Blue Cards for not just the 4th but different occasions.
Below each photo you’ll find a link, click it learn more like tutorials, products used and techniques.

This amazing box card from Lauren is exploding with lots of glittery, shimmery die cut stars and fireworks. This festive card stands up for display but folds flat for mailing. Watch her how to video on the Pretty Pink Posh blog.
Latisha created a wonderful stenciled background with stars and banners for her card that features a stamped plane pulling a banner sentiment. She stamped the plane on a die cut circle to help it stand apart from the background. Take a closer look on the Lawn Fawn blog.
Carol used a large Patriotic truck stamp to create this stunning shaped card. She added lots of extras like the adorable dog, flags, balloons, a banner and fireworks, all colored with Copic Markers. Find more details on the Honey Bee Stamps blog.

This tall slimline card for the 4th of July uses a black background with loads of gold stars to help the flag and sentiment really pop. Plus the gold adds some nice shimmer. I spotted this idea on the Stamps of Life Instagram page.
This adorable bear is ready to Party on a fun “bear-thday” card by Larissa! She stamped and embossed her images with clear embossing powder then colored them with Copic markers. I love how she stippled the color for the bears fur, very realistic! Find all the details on the Trinity Stamps blog.
Colleen designed a beautiful background for this design by masking off stripes and inking them with blue and red ink pads and then stamping an all over tiny stars stamp. She used dies for matts and borders with the stamped sentiment in the center. Find her directions on the Unity Stamps blog.
Betsy cleverly used a rolling hills stencil to create her flag background on this lovely card. She added layering floral stamps and stencils over top, with a beautiful sentiment that was from a Holiday set but she altered it to fit the occasion, so smart! Learn all the details on The Greetery blog.
And lastly is this amazing interactive card from Dori. This cute convertible car is all decked out in red, white and blue driving down the road and it will move along the card when the side tab is pulled, how cool is that!? I came across her design on the Art Impression Instagram page.
I hope you’ve been inspired to include a red, white and blue color combo to not only your Patriotic but birthday, summer and celebration cards too!
