12 Mushroom Card Ideas with Stamps, Stencils and Dies

Caly used different ink colors and ink blending on stencils for these colorful mushrooms. She put them in a trendy terrarium die with a heat embossed sentiment and die cut pierced background. Watch her video tutorial on the Simon Says Stamp blog.

When I was a little kid in the 70’s Mushrooms were really popular and it seems that trend has come around again. For awhile now mushrooms have been popping up on everything from clothes to home decor and even crafting supplies. Some of the designs are retro and look like they came from that 70’s era, some are realistic like you’d see in a nature journal and some are fantastical with fairies and gnomes. But however you style them Mushrooms are very on trend so today let’s look at some handmade card ideas that feature Mushrooms.

Below each photo you’ll find a link, click it for more details like products used, techniques and tips.

Mushroom work for many seasons but especially well for Fall. This stunning Autumn card from Channin uses layering stencils and coordinating dies for a wonderful shaker card. Gold sequins inside the shaker and a gold heat embossed sentiment really pop with the Fall colors. Visit the Hero Arts blog for a video tutorial.

Little critters go along so well with mushrooms like on this super sweet card from Sara. I love the scene she created with the little mice and strawberries around the mushrooms. Notice how she subtly stamped the background and didn’t color it so the focal point pops. Take a closer peek at the Hello Bluebird blog.

Here’s another cute shaker card, this time with a fantasy fairy theme. The mushrooms are just accents but they add so much to the design and tie the garden scene together. Dori breaks down how she put this idea together over on the Art Impressions blog.
