At Winter time when it’s cold and snowy you might not think that anything could possibly be blooming but there’s actually lots of lovely flowers and botanicals this time of year like Lilies and Poinsettia as well as different greenery with berries like Holly. This year add some joy to your Holiday and Christmas cards with pretty blooms and leaves. Let’s take a look at some beautiful examples.

Kelly’s wonderful card has a Holly stenciled background with a large cluster of die cut and inked botanicals. There’s a die cut circle to separate the background, there’s also a stamped, die cut and textured wooden plank for the sentiment. Learn more at the Papertrey Ink blog.
Solid stamps stamped with colored ink pads make for a quick and easy card that requires no coloring. This darling Chickadee on a pine branch is sweet and simple to create. I love including birds with Winter botanicals! Take a closer peek at the Altenew blog.
Nora designed a beautiful card background by inking the debossed back side of a dry embossed panel that has greenery and stars. Slightly high of center are die cut leaves and berries, a white Poinsettia and a die cut banner sentiment. She shares this technique at the Spellbinders blog.
Don’t limit yourself to green and red for Winter florals, Gina’s card has a large die cut and inked teal blue Poinsettia and it’s stunning! There’s also lots of shimmer with a silver foiled background and sentiment too. I spotted this idea on the Gina K. Instagram page.
This beautiful card has a dry embossed lacy background with boughs of stamped and watercolor pine and holly sprigs. There’s a pretty die cut section between the two with wavy edges and a earthy water colored center that helps draw the eye to the botanicals. Take a look at the Penny Black Inc. blog.
Nina used products that have coordinating stamps, stencils and dies to created her pretty snowy pinecones card. The ink blended blue background give a nice nighttime sky look and matches with the inked and die cut sentiment. Visit the Waffle Flower blog for more info.
Tina’s stunning card has a large golden yellow Merry Christmas stamped and die cut in the center with beautiful stamped Poinsettia’s colored with Copic markers in two corners. She’s got lots of layers underneath including a scalloped die cut panel that she inked yellow, leaving the edges white. She breaks it all down at the Sunny Studio blog.
Carol’s wonderful design has a red ink on red cardstock stenciled background for a nice tonal effect. In the center is a glittery die cut golden bow and die cut leaves and I love how she used beads for the berries! There’s also a label die with heat embossed gold sentiment too. Jeannie’s lovely card has a Poinsettia pattern created with layering stencils and colored ink pads. She cut out the stenciled panels and placed them on a dark blue card base adding a white heat embossed sentiment in between them. Find all the details at the Hero Arts blog.
A wreath is the perfect way to bring botanicals to a Christmas card like this amazing design from Jen. She stamped and heat embossed the wreath in gold on watercolor paper then used watercolors to color it in as well as adding a pretty painted blue background. There’s also a embossed banner sentiment too. She shares her process at the LDRS blog.
I love the bells added to this Poinsettia card from Marine! She stamped all her images and colored them in deep rich tones using Ohuhu markers, then she splattered them with white ink and die cut them out. She placed everything over top of a stenciled and eyelet die cut panel. She breaks it all down at the Pretty Pink Posh blog.
This jaw dropping card from Betsy gives me Victorian feelings with all the layers and dark colors. She used a combination of die cutting and dry embossing, adding color with a mix of colored pencils, ink pads and gold metallic pen. Watch her video tutorial at The Greetery blog.
Weren’t these cards so beautiful! Will you be bringing a touch of the outdoors with floral and botanicals on your Holiday cards this year?
