Suzy created a wonderful slimline card for Mother’s Day featuring stamped Moms and baby animals colored with Copic markers. She ink blended the background and added a stamped sentiment and some tiny hearts floating around too. She created a bunch of other cards for Mom with this set over on the Simon Says Stamp blog.
It’s almost time to celebrate Moms and let them know how special they are, are important they are and how much we appreciate everything they do for us. There are also so many other women in our lives who mother us too, like mother in laws, step moms, aunts, grandmother’s and even friends so don’t forget to send them some love on Mother’s Day too. Anna created a beautiful faux fabric look for her Mother’s Day card idea. She used the edge of two ink pads, pulling them across the paper for a crosshatch and then added floral rub-ons over top for a floral fabric look. Marcia used pattern papers and pre-printed die cut embellishment for a wonderful garden themed gatefold card. Using a digital card file she die cut her card base, adding a band to keep the card closed. She breaks it all down at the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog.
If your Mom loves flowers send her a card where the blooms will never fade. Brenda used flower dies cut from colored cardstock and added inking for some shading. Deborah used a super cute Quokka (an Australian animal) holding flowers stamp from Kat Scrappiness for the focus of her sweet card. She’s on a die cut pink frame with a card base of floral pattern paper and a stamped sentiment banner. I spotted her idea on the Hellmad Instagram page.
This lovely card from Ester features a stamped Peony flower on a black and white card that makes the pink flower really pop! She printed a plaid paper, layering a dry embossed white panel overtop adhering lacey die cut borders at the edges. Twine tied around the stamp tag adds a bit more color too. So here’s a great idea if you’re short on time or a beginning stamper not comfortable with their coloring skills…..don’t color in the stamped images. I know that seems odd but Heather makes it really work with these sweet Mother’s Day cards. There’s color from the plaid papers and texture from layers of torn shimmer vellum. Get realistic color and dimension by using layering stamps like Kathy did on her pretty card design. The blue in the flower is reflected in the blue cardstock layers and stamped sentiment. She added nice shine with die cut gold cardstock letters too. Take a closer peek at the LDRS Creations blog.
Janet created an amazing background for her stamped Lilies card. Using small purple polka dot paper she added die cut circles with purple inked edges over top for a fun dot on dot design. Let Mom know how thankful you are for all the things she does with a beautiful card like this one. There’s a subtle stenciled background, oval die cut frame and stamped flowers and sentiment.
