If you’re creating a card for some who is a big dog or cat lover it’s always fun to include one (or both) of those cute critters in the design. There are so many adorable stamps, dies, pattern papers and embellishments that have dogs, cats and other pet themes. Most everyone I know has a pet so one of my favorite things to do is craft a card for them with an image that looks like their pet, cats are pretty easy, I color the stamp in the colors of their cat(s), for dogs it can be a bit harder but many companies have stamps and dies that look like certain breeds or types of dogs. Dog and cats also can work so for many different themes and occasions too. So to get you inspired to add some cute pets to your cards I’ve gathered up a big sweet bunch of cat and dog themed cards.

These wonderful cards use stamps and dies from Spellbinders for a birthday, congrats and love you cards. Brenda added extra dimension to the cute die cut critters by adding some inking around the edges of the colored cardstocks. Visit the Spellbinders blog for more details.
Don’t we kind of wish that like Snow White, little animals would come and help us clean house? These adorable cats are doing chores on this fun card from Tamara. I like how she used the blocks to create little vignettes in each one, using almost all the kitty stamps from a large new set from CC Designs. Visit their blog for a closer look.
When you pull the tab on this interactive card from Renata the dog is lifted by the balloons and the cake in the dog bowl is revealed, how fun is that!? Visit the Lawn Fawn blog for more info.
I adore how Mama Elephant stamps add tiny animals with larger images like on this card with a little kitty tucked into a Japanese taiyaki aisu ice cream. Peggy cleverly used the cone as the “U” in Yummy. Visit the Mama Elephant blog for this and more food and critter related cards.
Yes, I know these are not cats or dogs but for personal reasons I wanted to include this super cute Guinea Pig card. See, when I was little I was allergic to cats and dogs (thankfully I grew out of it) so we had Guinea Pigs as pets for many years. So if you know someone who loves them too this digital stamp from Rachelle Anne Miller is perfect! Visit her blog for more info.
Who wouldn’t want to wake up in bed on their birthday to find an adorable dog and a big cake? This sweet card from Amanda uses stamps from Heffy Doodle and she’s sharing directions over on their blog.
I can’t stop giggling over the funny saying on this doggie themed birthday card! These fun dog house stamps include openings and doors so you can add little dogs inside, peeking out and laying on top for dynamic scenes. Visit the Art Impressions blog for a closer look.
With this beagle like dog and yellow bird on top of the dog house I’m pretty certain these stamps were inspired by one of my all time favorite dog characters, Snoopy! I spotted this cute New Home card over on the Polkadoodles Instagram.
And lastly since it’s July I thought I’d throw in a Christmas in July card from Galina. She used cute new critter dies from Waffle Flower putting this kitty in a sparkly sweater and a scarf sitting under a pine bough with ornaments. Visit the Galachko blog for more details.
I hope you’ve enjoyed all these wonderful cat and dog themed cards and will think about including them in your next pet lover cards designs.
