December 3, 2024 by Heather Holbrook

12 Elegant Christmas Cards

This beautiful slimline card uses a dry embossed pine background with lovely teal ornaments hanging over top. Touches of gold glitter on the ornaments, bows and sentiment add extra elegance. Learn more at the Spellbinders blog.

If cutesy or whimsical just isn’t your card making style then try going for a touch of elegance this Holiday Season. Use rich colors, metallics and touches of bling with realistic or modern images for a bit of glamour and grace. Products like foils, sparkly gems and heat embossing with your stamps and dies will put your designs over the top. So, let’s take a look at some classy Christmas cards to get you inspired!

Below each photo you’ll see a link, click it for more details like products used, tutorials and tips.

12 Elegant Christmas Cards

I love the non-traditional color combo of purple and silver on this stunning card from Michelle! She used a hot foil plate for the wreath and bird, adding some darker color around the card edges with ink. Watch her video tutorial on the Hero Arts blog.

Suzy used layers of vellum and metallic papers in silver for this stunning layered snowflake card. She included lots of sparkly gems and a simple sentiment over the blue patterned paper to finish the design. Take a closer peek at the Simon Says Stamp blog.

You simply can’t go wrong with gold and white, this combo is so classy! Gina used gold foil to make her own metallic cardstock for matting, die cutting and creating sentiments on this beautiful card. I spotted this idea on the Gina K. Designs Instagram page.

Silvia used a hot press plate to “stamp” her wreath image and water colored it with markers for an elegant vintage inspired card. She also added inking to the edges and gold die cut sentiment as well. Find all the details at the LDRS Creative blog.

This pretty floral Christmas card from Brenda uses a trendy faux postage design for the stamped postage frame edge. Inside the frame is a textured black dry embossed background and stamped flowers colored with Copic Markers. There’s a snowy feel with white ink splatter too. This trio of elegant cards were each created a similar manner with foiled backgrounds, simple die cut holiday shapes and frames with extra foiled accents added. Find her step by step directions for these pretties on the Therm O Web blog.

12 Elegant Christmas Cards

This gorgeous Christmas card from Gaylynn has a stamped background, stamped flower colored with coordinating stencils and sentiment stamped in metallic ink. For more texture there’s also a pattern paper background and paint splatter. Find out more at the Trinity Stamps blog.

Emily used stencils for the background and large snowflake on this pretty in pink gatefold card. The band that holds it closed was cut from glitter cardstock with a die cut metallic and stenciled snowflake over top with lots of gems added. Take a closer look at the Pinkfresh Studio blog.

Nicky used dies from Sunny Studio for this beautifully decorated front door scene card. I love the little gold touched through out and how versatile these products are to created any type of door scape you’d like! I came across her idea on the Nicky Noo Cards Instagram page.

12 Elegant Christmas Cards

As I’m sure is apparent by now foiling is a very trendy and easy way to add elegance to your Holiday cards like Penny did here. Her teal and silver foiled tree card has a die cut sentiment across the center for nice dimension. Learn more at the Papertrey Ink blog.

12 Elegant Christmas Cards

Peggy used traditional red and green for stamped boughs and berries on the background of this beautiful card. She let the large sentiment be front and center stamped in a bold red, accented with red ribbon. I spotted her card on the Pretty Paper Cards Instagram page.

I hope you have a festive and elegant Christmas and Holiday Season this year!
