I love interactive cards, they are so much fun to create and so much fun for the recipient to open!
So what is an interactive card? It’s a card that pops up, folds out, shakes, wobbles and more, anything that moves is considered an interactive design. It used to be a bit difficult to create these types of cards, lots of measuring, cutting, folding and fidgeting but so many crafting companies make dies or other tools that make creating unique interactive cards a snap now. Or if you like a challenge you can still DIY them yourself, I’ve included a few like that too.
So let’s take a look at some of my current favorite Interactive Cards, I’ve tried to include all the different styles I could think of. Below each photo is a link, most will include tutorials and directions for making them.
This adorable otters card had a double pop up with two square panels that pop out from the side when the card is opened. You’ll find step by step directions and a video tutorial for making this style of card on Splitcoast Stampers.
One of my favorite types of interactive card is a shaker. There are several ways to make a shaker card, this one uses a pre-made acetate pouch for a flat design that is easy to create and there’s lots of room for design on the background and over top of the clear plastic. One of the simplest interactive cards to make is a gate fold. Instead of a single side fold this card style has two side folds on both sides with the opening in the middle.
