Now that November is upon us it’s time to kick it into high gear and get started on making Holiday and Christmas cards if you haven’t already. My style for Holiday cards is usually cute, I love adorable animals, charming snowmen and jolly Santa’s. So I thought today we’d take a look at some handmade card inspirations using stamps, stencils and dies to create some cute handmade cards for Christmas.
Below each photo you’ll see a link, click it to learn more like tutorials, products used and techniques.
Lin used dies from Spellbinders for this darling card of a Polar Bear and his Penguin pal. There’s lots of texture from the dry embossed background, lots of color from all the colored cardstock and room for a stamped and die cut sentiment too. Take a closer look at the Sending Hugs blog.
This trio of cards from Amy feature three little ones all bundled up for the chilly holiday weather. For each scene she used a masking technique with digital and traditional stamps, coloring them and creating backgrounds with Copic Markers. Visit the Thousand Sheets of Paper blog for more details.
I love the bold, bright pink and red on this sweet card from Channin! She used stencils to design the plaid background, a die for the stocking and stamps for the peeking puppy and sentiment using new products from Hero Arts. I spotted this card on the Hero Arts Instagram page.
This adorable moose is standing on a city sidewalk, dressed in holiday style, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. Or should that be Merry Christmoose? 🙂 Tamara used Copic Markers to color her Holiday City scene. I came across her idea at the Sweet November Stamps site.
These darling children are enjoying a winter’s day bundle up and bird watching. Jill created lots of dimension using a double layer of a scalloped die cut and dry embossed frame and tucking in die cut snowflakes around the stamped images. Take a closer peek at the Penny Black blog.
If you’re needing to make cards quickly try using 3D pre-printed punch out decoupage images like Heather did on this super sweet snowmen card. I love the layers, it adds great dimension. Some bakers twine and a little stamping finishes off the card perfectly. Learn more at the Houses Built of Cards blog.
This fun interactive Christmas card from Sharon has layers of die cut snowy hills with frolicking stamped elves getting ready for the big day. And when you pull the tab at the top Santa pops up to wish a Happy Holiday! Find more details at the Art Impressions blog.
Savannah created some yummy clean and simple Gingerbread Men cards with stamping, washi tape and glitter. Her post has some helpful tips on coloring stamped images and not being so critical of yourself when you think you’ve messed up (something I’m sure most of us can learn from). Hop on over to the Pink and Main blog to check it out.
For the background of this cute Gnome card Silvia stamped and splattered a pattern on red cardstock then die cut a diamond shaped window opening from white cardstock for over top also adding a stamped sentiment. She stamped her gnome, colored him with alcohol markers and adhered him to the card. Learn more at the Trinity Stamps blog.
I adore the non-traditional color combo of teal and pink on this snowman card from Lieschen! They used glitter paste to make DIY glitter cardstock, cut it into strips and made a custom card background with it. There’s a cute stamped snowman in the middle that’s water colored with ink pads. Find a step by step tutorial on the Ranger Ink blog.
Laura used dies to create a shaker ornament with snow covered tress and silver snowflakes inside. It’s decorated with die cut greenery, the cutest stamped Llama and a die cut sentiment banner. Find more info at the Mama Elephant blog.
I hope these adorable Holiday cards have put a smile on your face and some inspiration in your mind to design some cute cards for Christmas!
